The New Climate Economy (NCE) is pleased to announce the addition of three new distinguished commissioners to the Global Commission on the Economy and Climate:

  • Maria van der Hoeven, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency

  • Eduardo Paes, Mayor, Rio de Janeiro and the Chair of C40

  • Caio Koch-Weser, Vice-Chairman of Deutsche Bank Group and Chair of the Supervisor Board of the European Climate Foundation

As current and former policy and business leaders, commission members are helping NCE refine its narrative and messages to our audience in consultations. After publication of our report in September 2014, the Commission members will help take the New Climate Economy’s findings and recommendations directly to heads of government, finance and economic ministers, business leaders and investors throughout the world. The results will be communicated to the wider economic community and civil society through global and national media channels.

The New Climate Economy is overseen by the Global Commission on the Economy and Climate, chaired by former President of Mexico Felipe Calderón.  All members serve in a personal capacity.
