RELEASE: New Global Commission Aims to Identify Pathways to Economic Prosperity and a Safe Climate

New Climate Economy project led by former President of Mexico Felipe Calderón, with government, business and finance leaders from 14 countries

NEW YORK (September 24, 2013)—As evidence of human-induced climate change mounts, a new global commission launched today will analyze the economic costs and benefits of acting on climate change. The Global Commission on the Economy and Climate comprises leaders from government, finance and business from 14 countries, chaired by former President of Mexico Felipe Calderón.  

The Global Commission on the Economy and Climate launches on September 24th

The Global Commission on the Economy and Climate will be launched on September 24th 2013 in New York. Former President of Mexico Felipe Calderón, Chair of the Commission, will speak at the launch meeting, which will take place just before the opening of the UN General Assembly and during ‘Climate Week’ in New York City. Other speakers include:
