A global agenda

It is inconceivable that global temperatures can be held down to 1.5 degrees or the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals can be met without transforming cities - where most people live and where most climate emissions come from. Many city leaders have taken impressive action towards making cities more inclusive and sustainable, but national governments hold many of the levers necessary for comprehensive, integrated systems change.

The Coalition is working to drive the issue of national government action for sustainable cities higher up the global agenda and to make available to national government leaders the robust evidence they need to take bold action.

From organising initiatives at major international events to engaging high-profile thought leaders to contribute to the debate in the media, the Coalition is working collaboratively as a partnership of over 40 organisations to help set the agenda on the role of national governments and sustainable cities.
