Kaushik Basu 

Kaushik Basu  is Senior Vice President and Chief Economist of the World Bank.  He was previously Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India.  He is on leave from Cornell University, where he is the C. Marks Professor of International Studies and Professor of Economics. His primary areas of expertise are development economics, industrial organization, game theory and welfare economics.
