    On 16 November, Global Commissioners Nicholas Stern and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala will deliver NCE messages in the High-level Ministerial Dialogue on Climate Finance, hosted in Marrakech, Morocco as part of COP22.

  • Greening Industrialisation in Africa


    This joint event by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), the African Development Bank (AfDB), the African Union Commission (AUC), the New Climate Economy (NCE) and University College London (UCL)will provide a high level dialogue platform, informed by evidence on the ground on the continent, for exploring how a policy-enabling environment can be created to successfully leapfrog towards climate friendly, resource-efficient and socially just industrialization for accelerated structural transformation of African economies.

    On 14 November, Nicholas Stern delivered a keynote address and moderated a panel discussion at an EBRD side event at COP 22, “Food and Climate Change: The Role of the Private Sector.” Panelists included Hakim Marrakchi, CEO of Maghreb Industries, and Laurent Thomas, Assistant Director-General of UN FAO.
